Sara Nisar, O.D.
Dr. Nisar is a Chicago local who grew up in the southwest suburbs. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. She has been a certified health coach as well as an EMT-B, volunteering her time at local health clinics. She still enjoys volunteering during her time off.
Dr. Nisar received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the esteemed Illinois College of Optometry, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During her time at the Illinois College of Optometry, she served as a board member for the Student Illinois Optometric Association and was an active member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society as well as the Tomb and Key Honor Society.
After graduation, Dr. Nisar went on to further her training by completing a residency in Ocular Disease/Primary Care at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Healthcare Center in North Chicago, IL. During her residency, she had the privilege of providing comprehensive eye care to veterans and active duty members serving the country.
Dr. Nisar practices full scope Optometry, with a special focus in specialty lenses and ocular disease; diagnosing/managing conditions, such as, macular degeneration, dry eye, glaucoma, etc.
Dr. Nisar enjoys getting to know her patients and understand their needs to provide the best possible eye care. Outside of work, she enjoys baking and spending time with her friends and family.
